This role requires Pharma/Biotech product launch experience. The highly-respected leader and consummate professional previously designed and executed a profitable Life Sciences Practice or suite of services on behalf of a Management Consulting or Specialty/Boutique Life Sciences Consulting Firm.
The person in this position will have expertise in the areas of commercial operations, pharmaceutical regulatory lifecycle, early product development, brand strategies, market assessment, target product profiling, portfolio management, launch planning, and launch execution.
The leader has expertise in a variety of therapeutic categories: Oncology, Rare Diseases, and Vaccines, as well as experience working with personalized medicine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with Senior Leadership to build, lead, and manage a practice that consistently meets or exceeds growth targets.
- Expands the team with like-minded and passionate people who share the company’s vision and values.
- Has a broad professional Life Sciences Network, that can be leveraged to solve real issues resulting in real results and long-lasting partnerships.
- Leads by example and upholds and enhances cultural values.
- Represents and builds the organization’s brand through active engagement in the marketplace (e.g., industry organizations, partnerships, speaking engagements, thought leadership, etc.).
- Develops go-to-market strategy and ensures effective execution. Effectively grows their practice and consistently achieves growth targets.
- Leads delivery and is accountable for overall quality and client satisfaction within their practice.
- Collaborates with other internal leaders to create cohesive marketing collateral and messaging.
- Develops IP, templates, frameworks, and tools. Responsible for the build and maintenance of a knowledge portal.
- Cares about each team member of the organization’s community, leading their team with a focus on professional and personal development.
- Establishes “Trusted Advisor” status for clients the organization serves.
- Embraces an entrepreneurial mindset. Manages all operational aspects associated with running a business.
- Lives the organization’s cultural values.
Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- An extensive network of connections in the life sciences marketplace (ideally in the PA, NJ, DE area).
- 10 + years of experience in Management or Life Sciences Consulting.
- 5+ years working for a Global, National, or Big 4 Consultancy.
- 5+ years of experience leading engagements and successful services for pharmaceutical and/or biotech clients.
- 5+ years generating revenue with a history of meeting or exceeding business development goals.
- Deep experience in Strategy, Operational Excellence, Change Management, Process Improvement, conducting assessments, facilitating workshops, and providing advisory services.
- Ability to influence change at all levels within a client organization.
- Strong facilitation skills and proven track record in identifying appropriate constituents to drive decision-making and action.
- Willingness and commitment to share knowledge, best practices, and learnings internally and a desire to flexibly play multiple roles within the growing team.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or the relevant certifications and practical experience to credibly advise and execute transformational engagements and be readily perceived as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor.
- Preferred experiences include: thriving and delivering quality results under pressure and deadlines, setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for launch products, managing/mitigating risk, and leading continuous improvement activities in an entrepreneurial environment.
